Constantly, I feel the urge to create things. At school I spend my time creating artwork--mostly illustrations--around the assignments I am given. But at home, when there are no assignments, I like to explore other creative outlets. Cosplay and manga are some of the ways that I fill the void between projects for school, or commissions for clients.
Cosplay is the act of dressing as a character from a pop-culture cartoon or video game. Cosplay is very popular in Japan and most cosplayers are known for dressing as Japanese pop-culture characters. Many cosplayer, myself included, make their own costumes.
Manga is Japanese comics. They are very similar to American comics in
that they are a combination of illustrations and words used to tell a
story. Manga typically uses fewer words than American comics, and is
known for its specific stylized way of depicting people: large eyes,
idealized proportions and very two-dimensional faces.  |  |
