Striped Summer Dress

  • by

I really didn’t think I was going to have a blog post for you today, as I haven’t finished anything in a while and I’ve been so busy enjoying the summer sun.

Many projects remain in progress, but I haven’t really had the time or desire to put in the long hours needed to finish anything big. I needed a quick win, to say I finished something this week, so I made this impossibly simple dress in an hour.

It’s starting to really heat up here in New England and you can never have too many lightweight, comfortable dresses. This fabric has been living in a bin since I made a beach cover-up out of a piece of it years ago. A super breezy two way stretch jersey, and not too sheer. I had just enough left for an above-the-knee shift. The waist is tapered, but in no way tight. All hems are surged and then rolled.

I didn’t even add pockets, though I had plenty of fabric for it because I’m lazy and the fabric might be too lightweight for them, or that’s what I told myself.
