Jake’s Beard-Bird Plague Doctor Mask

  • by

Look at this handsome guy. Plague masks are all the rage this year, but they don’t exactly accommodate long beards, at least, not in the traditional raven shape. Good thing we’re not wedded to tradition in this house. A pelican instead! That ballooning neck, a throat like fire, should be able to hold back this sailor’s beard.

With a liner made from comfortable cotton, the shell is a quilting of supple pleather, and two upholstery brocades. Two nose vents backed with more cotton help with humidity inside the mask.

A third elastic positioned on the chin loops behind the beard for extra tidiness and support.

‘Tis the season to get weird in a wintertime quarantine hell.
