It’s that time of year again when I’m getting ready for our annual backyard renaissance faire. As an incentive to my guests to bring food, I host a pot-luck competition. Attendees vote on their favorite dish, and the top three winners get their choice of a prize.
For two years now, one of the prizes has been a simple homemade cape or hood. This year, it’s a cape with a hood.
Using red satin from the stash, I made a one-size-fits-most cape with an extra-wide hood. Drafted by me, very much according to the fabric I had available. The ties are extra-long paracord for versatility of size and attachment method. Fun is planned for ahead of time. The magic of a good party where everyone feels taken care of and rewarded for their company takes quite a bit of preparation, no matter how fun you think you are without trying.
