Yak and Silk Crochet Kerchief

  • by

On our recent road trip to Nova Scotia, I passed the time as a passenger by crocheting. Reading makes me carsick, drawing anything more than a gestural sketch is a challenge on the roads, and writing can’t happen at the same time as an audiobook or the radio. Crochet is the perfect car activity–especially because I don’t count or follow patterns (yet).

I started this project last winter and put it down for gardening season. The yak-silk-combo yarn came from the fiber arts festival and was on sale because it needed to be detangled. I was up for that challenge. Wonderfully soft, and only one skein, I knew it had to be made into sometime small and close to the face. So I made a triangle bandana.
