Figure Drawing with Ink and Watercolor

Here are some figure drawings done in monochromatic watercolor and ink wash!

This first one is more of a portrait than a figure drawing like the ones you are used to seeing from me. But the model did not show up to class that day so we had to paint each other! I worked in pencil and watercolor to co a portrait of the girl sitting next to me. It was nice to sketch with the paint for a change.

Here is a painting that I did in only ink wash and pencil. No watercolor in this one, which means that there is no manipulating the color once it is laid down on the page. The ink is acrylic so it dries very quickly and cannot be reanimated.

This is a light and simple drawing of a woman done in ink on watercolor paper. It only measures about 12×15″

Another, even smaller drawing in ink, about 5×7″ means that I had more time to build up the ink into darker and darker shades.
