A Rare Day Alone

  • by

Broke my camera out of the block of ice in which winter has encased it to capture a small sprig of spring.

In this very rare moment to myself—no dog, no other people; just me, my car, and the woods, I tried to get a little lost in the empty spaces between Worchester and the Quabbin. The outdoors are a great source of inspiration and energy to take back with me to the studio.

While I never quite escaped the presence of other people on this gorgeous day, on trails much more popular than I expected them to be, I did get a few nice nature shots. But as is usually the case when I have my camera with me and ready to go, the best views of the day were in the car while driving with nowhere to pull over.

I didn’t accomplish all my meditative goals for that day, but I felt refreshed nonetheless. I am looking forward to a whole season ahead of getting outside with my friends, family, and furry companion.
