The first prize for Plague Faire, 2025 is finished. I whipped up this ‘Blue Mage Hood’ from some gorgeous blue cotton canvas from the stash.
The drape on this fabric is exceptional; it really holds volume even without a lining. The edges are surged and hemmed, and the one-size hood ties at the neck with a soft polyester shoestring, ends burned.
The hood is very large to fit any size head, and the cape or capelet features large, round, ambiguous shoulders for any frame. The high-low design is scholarly; the broad scallop whimsical. This hood will be available to the winner of this year’s Plague Fair potluck contest as a choice of prize.
